Business-related post
I guess I'm a bit of a strange person. I really don't mind meetings much at all, particularly if they are well-thought out, if they have an agenda, if they stick to the agenda, and there are real, concrete, specific actions or decisions that result.

HOWEVER ...

I HATE STATUS REPORTS!!! With a PASSION!

Status reports are THE BIGGEST WASTE OF TIME I HAVE SEEN IN MY 20+ YEARS OF WORKING!! I never relie on them if I'm gathering them. I hate writing them. To me, they serve absolutely no purpose. They are a snapshot, at best, of true status.

I think my disconnection with life stems from my passion for life and the things I care about. I care so deeply, so profoundly, so passionately about certain things that one of the ways that I sublimate the pain or anger I feel about this injustice is to disconnect from the issue, to disconnect from the passion, or even disconnect from the person that the issue is about. I hear myself crying in my head, "Noooooooooooooooooooo!" in such a wailing, pain-wracked voice.
